We have all experienced moments where we have lacked belief in ourselves if even for just a few moments . Limiting beliefs are the silent barriers that hold us back from reaching our full potential. These deeply ingrained thoughts often stem from past experiences, societal influences, or even self-doubt. But fear not, for this blog post is your guide to understanding, challenging, and ultimately removing these limiting beliefs from your life.
Limiting beliefs can start as self-protective mechanisms, but over time, they can become roadblocks to success. Recognising these beliefs is the first step toward overcoming them. Engage in self-reflection to identify the negative thought patterns that may be holding you back can help in this processes.
Mindfulness and conscious effort can help reshape our beliefs. Challenge our limiting beliefs by asking critical questions: Are these beliefs based on facts or assumptions? What evidence do you have to support or disprove them? Writing down these questions and answering them can provide a lot of clarity as it gives you the space and time to reflect. I have often found undertaking this practice after meditation provides the clearest insight.
Replace negative self-talk with positive affirmations that resonate with your goals and aspirations. Upon waking set a positive intention for the day and keep this top of mind throughout the day. It is these small steps that help us reclaim our own power. Place this intention or affirmation on a sticky note so you can see it and be reminded at moment during the day. Some examples include: ‘ I am enough’, ‘I am strong’, ‘I am fully whole’ etc. Sometimes just a word is helpful e.g joy, hope, peace etc.
Practice visualisation exercises to imagine yourself free from limitations. There are many online meditations to help with this and guide you through the process but please reach out if you need any further and I can start to share them here. Create a vision board that represents your desired outcomes and helps manifest your dreams into reality. Visually seeing what you want to create or release can help make it more tangible.
Nurturing your spirit involves cultivating self-compassion and embracing your authentic self. Go back to practices that you feel your most authentic self e.g dance, art, yoga etc Engage in practices that you feel connected with can ground you with your inner thoughts and emotions. Joining a group with other like minded individuals can also be helpful e.g women’s circles so you can feel supported and grounded in the journey.
Forgiving yourself for past mistakes and setbacks is crucial. Remember that growth is a journey, and setbacks are opportunities to learn and improve. Each small action is a step nearer being the truest more vibrant version of yourself.
You are enough and you can create all envisage.
Sending love and light
